Summary: Pre-Accident, little Elsa and Anna being adorable with northern lights.
“Elsa! Elsa!” Anna crawled up onto her sister’s bed and poked Elsas cheek. “Pst. Psssst!! Elsa! Wake up!” Anna began to shake her older sister’s arm. Elsa groaned and turned onto her side. “Anna it’s bedtime. We just went to bed! What could you possibly need?” Anna frowned, no one ever listened to her when she had something important to say. Anna bent down and whispered into her sisters ear, “I saw something in the sky.” Elsa giggled and pushed Anna down so she was sitting next to her. “Anna, those are just stars, and that’s moon. You see those every night! Now go back to sleep.” Anna flung herself on top Elsa dramatically and looked out the window, upside down. She remained like this for a few minutes while Elsa dozed off. Then suddenly, the sky changed colors. Beautiful wisps of light appeared in the sky in a myriad of colors: greens and yellows and pinks and blues. Anna jumped up and squealed, shaking Elsa awake again. “Elsa! See! Do you see them? I told you something was different!” Elsa popped open one of her eyes and was greeted with the incredible spectacle. “It’s the northern lights!” Elsa bolted up and grabbed Anna’s hand, pulling her out of their room and into the never ending hallway. There wasn’t a flicker of light to be seen as the giddy sisters skipped down the hallway. The once eerie corridors, that neither of the girls used to look at, suddenly seemed like any other room in the palace. Anna pranced down the stairs, two at a time, holding on tightly to her best friends hand. They slid across the shiny polished floor, out the heavy oak door and into the courtyard. Anna plopped down on her favorite spot of grass in the courtyard followed by a just as eager Elsa. The little princesses gazed up at the lights for quite some time together. A rare silence lofted around them until Anna whispered, half asleep, “They look like rainbows. Like nighttime rainbows.” Elsa smiled and whispered in an awed response, “They do don’t they?” But young Anna was unresponsive: she was already fast asleep in her sisters lap.
More writing for Frozen Anna Week! I hope you all enjoy it :)
Summary: Post Accident. Five year old Anna is staying up late during a thunder storm watching the rain.
Anna’s lonely and empty bedroom door had just clicked to a close on the stormy summer night. The rain was hitting the enormous triangular window like bullets. Thunder in the distance still managed to make the window pane rumble slightly. Anna much preferred to stay up late and watch the raindrops hit the window, unlike all the other residents in the palace. She would always breathe on the glass, creating a thin layer of fog that she could draw pictures in. Sometimes she would just look out at the rain and make stories about the rain clouds and raindrops as they circled around the castle.
After the scuffling sound of the servants bustling around in the hallway disappeared and the lights in the hall went out, Anna slunk out from under her covers. Her tiny feet hit the freezing cold mahogany floor. She tiptoed over to the window seat covertly.
The young princess plopped down in the cozy, warm, plushness of the window seat and pressed her face against the spotless window and exhaled. A layer of fog spread all around where she had left her face. She giggled and started drawing. A circle here, a line or two there, and snowflake shapes everywhere. She leaned back grinning from ear to ear in admiration of her window-drawing handiwork. A messily drawn version of Elsa and Anna holding hands while snowflakes fell from the sky was scribbled into the fog.
Anna’s once bright and cheerful smile quickly turned into a frown and a quivering lip. Her bright blue eyes began to water and her button nose began to run.
The five year old buried her face into a nearby pillow and sobbed. She squeezed her eyes tight in an attempt to stop her tears from flowing. Anna threw herself forward on her stomach in a fit of unstoppable tears. Her left hand brushed across a silky cloth toy and snatched it up to cuddle. She hugged the toy to her chest and let her silent tears drip onto the top of the doll. Anna’s violent sobs eventually turned into soft hiccups leaving her calm enough to look up.
Anna blinked open her puffy red eyes and wiped her tear-stained cheeks with her nightgown. As she he peered down at the treasured doll she clenched in her arms, Anna expected to see the doll that resembled herself that her parents had gotten for her years ago. Instead, she saw a different plush girl. A small doll, the same size as her own, wearing a blue gown with braided, blonde, pigtails. “El-Elsa?” Anna bit her lip and squeezed the doll again. “I miss you so much.” she wailed.
The little princess turned and looked back at her window drawing. The snowflakes had turned to smudges, similar to rain. The side of the picture with Elsa had faded away, leaving a raindrop-covered windowpane in its place. Anna placed her hand where Elsa had been. “You’ll always be my best buddy. No matter what. I love you.”
Anna turned away from the window and curled up into a ball, continuing to cuddle the Elsa doll, as she drifted off to sleep.
Fourth story for Frozen Anna Week! I somewhat based it off of the deleted dressing room scene. :) enjoy!
Summary: Anna needs to pick out a wedding dress, especially since the wedding is only one month away. Unfortunately, none of the dresses are quite right.
“Your majesty? Should I go try to wake up Princess Anna again? It’s nearly noon.” Gerda pestered Queen Elsa with the same question for the third time within ten minutes. Gerda was shifting from foot to foot as her eyes darted around the room nervously.
The Queen had been waiting in the parlor for Anna to awake for almost an hour. The dress maker had left for the day three hours ago and was returning at dusk to see which wedding gown the princess chose. The only problem was that Anna had yet to appear.
Elsa smiled softly and shook her head, “That’s quite alright Gerda. I’m sure Anna will show up any minute now.” No sooner than Elsa said this Anna burst through the doors. Her hands raised up over her head in a sort of victory pose. The top of her dress covered in purple stains, a tear defiled the skirts hem, and her hair was an orange frazzled mess.
“I’m here! Sorry I’m late. I slept in then there was a kitchen incident with the grape jelly and the knives. Oh and then there was a bit of a problem with the windows… But I’m here now!” Anna slid into a chair next to Elsa beaming with pride, as if she had just accomplished the most incredible feat known to man.
Elsa had to bite her tongue in order to refrain from bursting into obnoxious laughter. She instead smiled and giggled and helped her sister back up before muttering “Good thing it’s just you trying on wedding gowns and not any fancy foreign ambassadors. Anna your dress is a mess.” Her older sister tried to smooth it out and fix it up. Anna blushed and bit her lip. “Oh. Sorry Elsa…” Elsa smiled and shook her head “No harm done. It’s just me and Gerda here. So why don’t you get started on the dresses?” Anna jumped up and ran over to the dressing room area of the parlor. As she skipped around the parlor she babbled endlessly about how excited she was to be trying on various dresses for her wedding. Not anyone else’s party. Her very own. Elsa couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear at her younger sisters giddiness. Elsa gracefully sat down on a throne that Gerda insisted be brought into the parlor for Elsa.
Anna popped her head out from behind the curtain.
“Is her Majesty the Queen ready to see the gowns?” She was mocking one of their servants, Kai, who always spoke formally. Elsa and Anna could never help but laugh. Elsa mocked back, attempting not to laugh, by saying “If her Highness Princess Anna is prepared then I most certainly am.”
Anna chuckled and slid out from behind the curtain wearing a puffy white dress that made her look like a giant marshmallow. “Ooh! My hips are here! My hips are there! My hips are everywhere! Pardon my behind dear sir!” Anna came sauntering over to Elsa so the oversized dress moved with her every step.
Elsa stifled her laugh with a gloved hand. “Oh my! Who designed that dress?” Elsa was up in a flash attempting to fix the already disaster of a dress. Pulling off layers of lace, silk, and tulle. Anna laughed and helped fix the gown “I don’t know. One of the bigger designers? Here let me just change instead.” Anna wobbled her way back to the curtain and slipped into a new gown, and another, and another, and another. All of them were, once again, a disaster of a dress. Either too big or too little, too thick or too thin, too white or too cream, too pretty or too ugly. Within an hour Anna had tried on all of the dresses in the parlor, not a single one of them were what she expected.
Elsa walked around the parlor picking up the torn pieces of fabric that had been scattered around while they tried to salvage the already-ruined gowns. Anna flung herself onto Elsa’s throne, bit her lip in deep concentration and scrunched up her eyebrows while narrowing her eyes. “Elsa?” Anna lazily pulled herself into a siting position leaning on the golden arm rest. “Yes, Anna.” The queen stretched her neck from above the pile of fabric in her arms. “Well—uh. You see I was— um…” The princess trailed off twirling the end of her braids and tapping her toes. Elsa smiled sweetly in an attempt to comfort her sister. Padding over to Anna, she dropped the pile and knelt down. “You can tell me Anna. Is there something wrong?” Anna blushed so her cheeks were the color of her hair.
“Can you make my dress?” The princess had blurted it out so fast that Elsa could barely hear her.
“You want me to make your wedding dress?” Elsa was in completely shock. It wasn’t like she designed gowns for a living, but Anna was her sister and she couldn’t let her sister down. “Alright. Stand up then?” Anna squealed “Do the magic!” and stood up with her arms stretched out at her sides. Elsa beamed and created a ball of sparkly snow in her hands “Ready?” Anna was nearly bouncing out of her shoes from excitement.
Elsa waved her hand gracefully and began working. Silvery snow and shining ice started covering Anna’s torn and jam-stained dress. Anna squeaked and wiggled in place as Elsa put the finishing touches on Anna’s gown. “Anna! Stand still!” Elsa pierced her lips trying to stay concentrated and not let her magic hit Anna. “And close your eyes.” Ever enthusiastic for surprises, Anna immediately squeezed her eyes shut.
“Okay. Finished. Open your eyes!” Elsa pushed Anna over to the mirror.
Anna gasped and threw her hands over her mouth.
“Elsa! It’s beautiful. Thank you!” Anna jumped up and threw her arms around Elsa. Elsa returned the hug. The dress was a traditional white with sparkling blue-green ice crystals at the hem. Her sleeves were decorated in flower prints and went down just past her elbow. The train of the dress extended about a foot behind her and shimmered in the sunshine seeping through the window. A silvery ribbon was tied into a small bow at Anna’s waist. The ice on her bodice created a rainbow like the Aurora Borealis across the floor when the light danced off of it. Anna twirled around in the mirror, clumsily curtsying, and pretending to dance as if it was already her wedding day.
Summary: The thoughts going through Annas mind after Hans leaves her to die.
“Oh, but I already have….”
The door clicked as soon as Anna reached for the handle. Locked. Stranded. Deserted and left to die. The words of the manipulative prince echoed in Anna’s mind as she lay beside the oak door. ‘If only there was someone out there who loved you.’ She couldn’t tell what felt worse: the ice spreading through her body or his venomous words. Helpless, the princess continued to call out in vain. But what if… what if Hans was… right?
“No Anna. People… people love you. Don’t. Don’t think like that.” Anna attempted to pull herself up from the freshly polished floor into a sitting position but collapsed hopelessly. She could feel the ice rush through her body like the claws of monsters that she had once had nightmares about. Quickly, ferociously, and without mercy. “Mama and Papa loved you.” Anna shut her eyes and tried to remember her parents.
She saw her mother braiding her and Elsa’s hair.
She saw her mother’s bright smile whenever Anna was happy and goofy.
Saw her father teaching her how to read.
Saw her father taking Anna horseback riding every Sunday, with his bellowing laugh and rare shining smile.
Her father and mother tucking her into bed at night and reading Anna’s favorite bedtime story, ‘The Snow Queen.’
“They loved you Anna.”
Anna attempted to smile; her Mama and Papa had loved her, until they—
A malicious voice inside of her mind appeared and sneered, “They can’t love you if they’re dead.” Anna shook her head, fighting back the tears burning at the corners of her bright blue eyes.
“This isn’t you Anna. Stop. Mama and Papa loved you. And so did Elsa.”
Elsa. Her sister who had been so terribly distant, and continued to be even when the circumstances could have been altered.
“She froze your heart. She hurt you. People that love you wouldn’t hurt you.” Anna crumpled… it was as if Hans had entered her head and just wanted to kill her faster. Anna squeezed her eyes tight, but she could not stop the tears from escaping her. Her tears nearly froze to her skin as the dripped down her pale cheeks. It was funny, she thought, how she had no energy to move from the ground but she could cry. A weak and pitiful laugh escaped her chapped lips.
“Try to remember Anna, when you were little. Remember.” Memories of Elsa and herself came flooding back.
They skated on the lake in the castle courtyard, and Elsa even caught her when she tripped.
Elsa pushed Anna’s new sled down a hill and it went soaring. “Look Anna! You’re a bird!”
As if she went back in time, she could hear her sister’s laughs and cheers and the wind against her face.
“Hi! I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs!” She saw Elsa manipulating the stick arms of the snowman they had just constructed, and granting it a voice.
Anna wrenched her head up from the cold and unwelcoming ground to see a portrait on the wall. A painting; her Mama, Papa, and Elsa.
“They love me.” Anna whispered these words in between sharp gasps for air. “And that’s all that matters.” The princess slid her head back onto the ground muttering one last ‘Help’ before shutting her eyes, expecting to be left forever. At the mercy of the dark magic within her, spreading from her numb toes to her once warm heart. That is, until a click of the door unlocking resonated throughout the room…
Story three for Frozen Anna Week! Some Kristanna this time. Enjoy! :)
Summary: Anna has been sick for quite a while and Kristoff is so worried about her, after the doctor comes to check on her Anna gets shares an incredible announcement with Kristoff.
Kristoff softly knocked on Anna’s bedroom door.
The doctor had just left the castle and was smiling at Kristoff while walking down the castle’s endless hallway. Kristoff was utterly confused. Anna; the princess, his lovely wife, had been sick for weeks. To his dismay, he was unable to help, and was able to do nothing when the sounds of her throwing up came from her room. This was not the time to be smiling!
Elsa gracefully slid out of the bedroom. She looked Kristoff in the eye in an attempt to appear regal and stern, but the queen cracked and turned away from Kristoff, stifling her laughter with a gloved hand.
“Anna wants to see you.” She rushed down the hallway, never looking back; leaving the door ajar. “Kristoff? Are you out there?” He stared at the door, his hand shaking right above the silver door handle. He inhaled sharply and walked in, gently closing the door behind him. Anna was beaming from the bed, wiggling her feet under the covers and biting her lip. “How are you feeling?” Kristoff cautiously stepped over to the bed and sat down near her feet. He stared at her, still completely lost as to why everyone was so happy about the princess being sick.
“WE’RE GONNA HAVE A BABY!!” Anna screamed at the top of her lungs and cheered. She threw her arms around Kristoff’s neck and kissed his cheek. But he didn’t react.
Anna froze mid hug and slid off of his lap, scooting back up to the head of the bed.
“Is-is everything okay?” Anna was shocked. She had been so excited when the doctor told her that she could barely contain herself. She had wanted to jump up and cheer and let the whole world know that she was going to be a mommy. Anna had wanted to tell Kristoff as soon as possible, but now… Kristoff wasn’t showing any emotion. He was just sitting there, like a statue.
“No.“Anna thought to herself. He had to be happy. Kristoff loved her more than anything in the world, so he would love their baby too. He had to. "Kristoff?” Anna gingerly set her hand on his shoulder. Suddenly his hands were at her waist and he scooped her up, twirling her around and laughing with the biggest smile.
“I’m going to be a daddy!!” He held Anna up in the air, over his head, and kissed her. Anna giggled. “I’m so happy you’re happy.” She squealed, kissing his forehead. “Oh shit. I probably shouldn’t be twirling you around right? Bad for the baby with the pinnings— I mean the spinning— and I Mean— okay here.” He tucked Anna into the bed again and plopped down next to her. Kristoff tried to stay calm and relax but he couldn’t help himself and sprang right back up like a popcorn kernel.
“Is it a boy or girl?” Kristoff was bouncing the bed with his excitement. Anna shook her head. “We can’t figure that out. It has to be a surprise.” Kristoff groaned and fell back on the bed. “Maybe Grand Pabbie could tell us? Trolls and magic and all?” He jumped off the bed and started pulling out sweaters and jackets and hats.
“What if I want it to be a surprise?” Anna crossed her arms and planted herself firmly on the bed. “No one likes surprises… Except maybe you. Besides, we would be more excited if we knew. And the ride isn’t long. Sven will take us in the sled.” Kristoff grinned through on his hat like a goof but frowned when he saw the window.
“Oh.” He tossed everything back into the closet like a pouting two year old. “Remembered that it’s the middle of the winter?” Anna drummed her fingers on her stomach. Kristoff hung his head and scratched the back of his neck. “Yeah. I guess we should stay…” Anna smiled blissfully and stretched out her arms for a hug.
“Come on Mr. Bjorgman , don’t you want to give your lovely pregnant wife a hug?” Anna stretched her arms out farther while Kristoff took slow and minuscule steps towards the bed. “Hurry up! My arms are getting tired.” She flailed them about until Kristoff pounced onto the bed next to his princess.
“I love you Freckles.” He leaned down and kissed Anna’s stomach, “and I love you too baby Freckles.” “You know it might not even have freckles.” Kristoff looked up at her like she was insane. But Anna was completely serious. “With all your freckles, Fiestypants? There’s no way it won’t have freckles.”
ANNA: “Don’t know If I’m elated or gassy but I’m somewhere in That zone!”
Friend: SHES LIKE THE JENNIFER LAWRENCE OF PRINCESSES I LOVE HER.
I hope Elsa has really loud, obnoxious, messy crazy sneezes in Frozen Fever. And Anna hears them and at first laughs so hard she snorts, until she realizes her sister is like actually sick then they go to Oaken and get the cold meds.
